Job Description & Qualification
The Center for Advanced Studies “Foundations of Law and Finance” (Prof. Tobias H. Tröger, Prof. Rainer Haselmann) at Goethe University Frankfurt, Departments of Law and Economics and Business Administration, offers the position of a Post-doctoral Researcher (m/f/d) (E14 TV-G-U, 100 %).

The position starts on October 1, 2024 limited until December 31, 2027. The salary grade is based on the job characteristics of the collective agreement (TV-G-U) applicable to Goethe University.

The LawFin Center investigates how institutional and regulatory parameters influence financial market decisions and outcomes and takes a closer look at the interconnections between legislation, economics and politics in order to measure and evaluate the impact of law on the financial sector and the economy as a whole. The Center puts a specific focus on green finance and regulation.

YOUR TASKS:
The successful candidate will be closely integrated in the research activities of the Center and in its academic administration (member of the governing body “Direktorium”). The post-doctoral researcher should contribute to the scholarly development of the Center and its academic profile. To that end, the successful candidate will also interact intensely with the senior and junior research fellows visiting the Center and other researchers at Goethe University in order to develop interdisciplinary research projects, events etc. The position will offer the opportunity for self-determined research that fits with the career plans of the post-doctoral researcher (e.g. “Habilitation”).

YOUR PROFILE:
Candidates need to prove a significantly above average performance in their legal education (top 5% of their class) and their doctoral studies in law. Their commitment to interdisciplinary research at the interface of law and finance should be evidenced in their Ph.D. thesis. Expertise in financial regulation and corporate governance as well as strong connections to the international academic community are essential requirements for the position. Excellent English language skills in the research field of the Center are essential and should ideally be documented with a degree obtained from a post-graduate program taught in English.
