“How should finance be regulated?” Economists, legal scholars and political scientists have all grappled with this crucial question.
In doing so, many have become frustrated with the existence of disciplinary boundaries and have issued a strong call for more interdisciplinarity.
Interdisciplinarity is easier said than done, however. It faces decades of mutual (theoretical, empirical and methodological) ignorance and mistrust, as well as academic institutions which rarely reward it.
"One doesn't know what one doesn't know": The LawFin Center supports the quest for fruitful interdisciplinarity by gathering economists, legal scholars and political scientists for a critical discussion of each other's work.
As a part of its mission, the LawFin Center organizes a bi-annual workshop series that will serve as a forum for interdisciplinary discussions regarding various approaches to finance.
The inaugural workshop gathers leading scholars in their respective fields and is devoted to the political economy of financial regulation.
